Two non-profit organizations have been awarded grants from the Dutchess County Bar Association Fund totaling $1,335. Funding priority is given to enhance public understanding of the law and how it works, and support increased delivery of legal services to those who cannot afford them.

$735.00 5th Annual Senior Law Day will target Senior Adults and their primary caregiver/s. As elder abuse continues to be a problem with these more vulnerable citizens, the program is focused on giving them the best information to help prevent and end such ill treatment. $600.00 Know-your-rights workshops that cover various areas including basic labor laws (wage-and-hour), employment discrimination, occupational health and safety standards, immigrant-related workplace issues such as SSA "no-match letters" and employment verification systems.
