Five Dutchess County nonprofit organizations have been awarded grants from the Robert R. Chapman Fund totaling $6,100. Funding priority is given to organizations that promote and/or help provide international and cultural learning experiences for youth. The committee reviewed 11 grant requests totaling $39,235.
Fall 2007 Grant Awards
Catharine Street Community Center $2,600
To offer language instruction in French, Spanish and German in the After School program.
Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson $500
To assist with travel and registration fees to attend a four day instructional dance and drumming camp.
Mill Street Loft $1,500
Scholarship funds to be used for the April 2008 trip to Florence, Italy.
Rhinebeck-Rheinbach Exchange Program $500
To support hosting German youth in the summer of 2008.
Stissing Mountain High School $1,000
Support for the China Exchange Program that will be used to defray expenses for students from Pine Plains who are unable to afford the expenses to travel to China.
