Eleven grants totaling $31,842 were awarded from the Renegades Pitch for Kids Fund. Funding priority is given support organizations in the Hudson Valley whose programs foster positive change in youth, families, and the community.

American Heart Association, Dutchess-Ulster Division $3,000 - Alliance For a Healthier Generation
Eliminate childhood obesity and inspire all young Americans to develop lifelong healthier habits by encouraging physical activities and changes in school and home nutrition.
Anderson Center for Autism $3,000 - Learning How to Play
Development of visual play books to help children with autism.
Bishop Dunn Memorial School $3,000 - Preparing for the 21st Century
Purchase of a Lenovo ThinkPad, SMARTBoard and Digital Camera.
Boys & Girls Club of Kingston $3,000 - Crossing the Technological Divide
Provide computers to teens in the new teen center.
GiantKids $3,000 - Bravery Bear
Creation of a new courage award program targeted to younger patients, 1-5 years of age, using a stuffed animal wearing a GiantKids Courage Medal around its neck.
Jewish Women International – Hudson Valley Chapter $3,000 - The Backpack Project
Backpacks filled with essential school supplies for children of all ages who are living in temporary housing, homeless shelters and domestic abuse shelters in Dutchess County.
New York Blood Center – Hudson Valley $3,000 - Little Doctors Program
A program to have school-age children promote and organize blood drives in the Hudson Valley.
Occupations, Inc. $3,000 - Smart Start for Education Program
Provide children with school supplies they need to begin their school year in September 2007.
Saint Francis Healthcare Foundation $3,000 - Panichi Family Center for Communication & Learning
Purchase of equipment for the Special Needs Preschool Program at the Panichi Family Center.
Town of Wappingers Little League Assoc. Inc. $3,000 - Support for the Challenger Division of the Little League
Funds to support scholarships for any child who cannot afford to pay the registration fees. |
